A good cup of coffee can turn your day around. But at Bitty and Beau’s Coffee, a franchise coming to Jacksonville, it’s changing a lot more than that.
In 2016, the Wright family established the first shop in Wilmington, North Carolina. The two youngest of the four children, Beau and Bitty, have Down syndrome, which inspired the Wrights to exclusively hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to run their day-to-day operations.
Now, nearly 20 locations later, the company employs 120 people with disabilities, supporting a population with an 80 percent unemployment rate, while promoting inclusion, acceptance and love.
