College football kicks off the spring schedule

The usual sadness that accompanies the final seconds of the Super Bowl is alleviated this year by the return of … college football.

It’s the FCS division, the smaller schools below the big SEC and ACC-types. 11 of the 13 FCS conferences are playing this spring, and with an ESPN+ subscription or some online searching, fans can get their fill.

In Florida, the Stetson Hatters in Deland will compete in a six-game Pioneer League schedule beginning March 13. Most of the MEAC, including Florida A&M’s Rattlers, canceled until the fall, as did the Ivy League. We’ll wait till November for Harvard-Yale.
