Christina Johnson, president of On 3 Public Relations, opened the full service and certified woman- owned firm in February 2008. She previously served as Director of Public Relations for a lobbying firm, providing clients with message development, strategic communication, grassroots advocacy and overall paid and earned media outreach. Christina’s executive and legislative branch experience include her positions as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of State, Communications Director at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and as Director of Communications for the Florida Senate President. She managed the development of television, radio and brochure projects for various department campaigns. Johnson also developed, coordinated and distributed cohesive messaging to local, state, and national media outlets including the writing of speeches, opinion editorials, articles and press releases.
She currently serves as Director of the Central Florida Political Leadership Institute, which is led by the Central Florida Partnership’s BusinessForce. Its mission is to identify and train Central Florida business leaders within the seven-county region to run for local, state and federal office. Since its inception, the Institute has graduated 12 elected officials in six short years. Christina began her career at the Republican National Committee (RNC) where she was responsible for political activities and assisting state parties with county caucuses and state conventions for delegate selection to the convention and taught campaign seminars for legislative candidates. She provided the lead on press, logistics and fundraising events for the President, Vice President and various cabinet officials and federal campaigns within the region during the 1988, 1990, and 1992 election cycles. Christina also worked at the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) as Director of Campaign Operations for statewide and congressional races during the 2002 election cycle – picking up three GOP congressional seats and electing an allRepublican Cabinet.
Christina Johnson lives with her husband, David, in Tallahassee, Florida. She is a member of the Capital City Tiger Bay Club, the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), the American Association of PoliticalConsultants and Public Affairs Professionals, and is an appointee to the Florida Hotel and Restaurant Advisory Council. She is also the Florida Director of Maggie’s List, a federal political action committee formed to support women running for the US House and Senate. Christina recently received FPRA’s prestigious Stanley Tait Professional Award for Professionalism and Leadership. She graduated in 1986 from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a degree in Political Science.
Katie currently serves as an account coordinator at On 3 Public Relations, where she formerly served as an intern while finishing her final year of college.
She graduated from Florida State University in 2020 with a degree in communications. Previously, she worked as a volunteer coordinator on the political campaigns of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. Rep. Bill Posey.
While in school, Katie founded the Florida State Young Americans for Freedom chapter and served as the chair. She was also a member of the board of trustees for the FSU Student Foundation and captain of the FSU Action Shooting Team.
David Johnson is a Florida-based Republican general strategic consultant to candidate campaigns, initiatives and a strategic advisor to corporations and associations. He founded his company, the David Johnson Group (DJG) in 2003 after leading the Republican Party of Florida as executive director during the 2002 campaign cycle, having worked for the party during the Republican ascendency to majority during the 1990s. His work included the campaigns of Gov. Jeb Bush and he has served as president of Right to Rise Policy Solutions, a 501c4 that works closely with Gov. Bush, since 2015.
DJG campaign and corporate clients are and have been varied in strategic needs and have spanned the nation. They have included Carlos Curbelo, congressman from Miami, Sen. John Thune in South Dakota, Bradley Byrne in Alabama, Dino Rossi in Washington state, and other statewide candidates for United States Senate, gubernatorial and congressional races across the country, presidential campaigns, as well as federal, legislative and initiative campaigns in Florida. DJG was a chief advisor to former Senate President Andy Gardiner in his tenure as leader of the Florida Republican caucus as well as other members of the Florida Legislature, and DJG has led independent groups supporting federal candidates in Florida and other states. DJG has worked with the Florida Hospital Association and their affiliated organizations since 2013, and served as a strategic advisor to the successful Amendment 4 campaign in Florida in 2018.
Johnson began working at the Republican Party of Florida in 1992, with duties in finance, state legislative and statewide campaigns, and was named deputy executive director in 1995, handling operations for the Presidency III Florida Presidential Straw Poll. In 1996, Florida Republicans won control of both state legislative bodies for the first time since Reconstruction, and in 1998, elected Jeb Bush as governor as well as winning a majority on the State Cabinet.
After two years as partner with a private governmental relations and consulting firm, Johnson returned to the Florida Party in 2001 as executive director for the successful reelection of Gov. Bush and a sweep of State Cabinet and contested congressional and state legislative campaigns.
David Johnson resides in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife Christina. He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants, and has been named one of “Florida’s Top Five Republican Political Influencers” by Campaigns and Elections magazine, and as a member of the “100 Most Influential People in Florida Politics” by Influence Magazine (2016, 2018).
