With a critical need for the creation of high-paying jobs, a bill filed in the Florida Senate would re-establish the targeted rebate program to attract film and television productions to the state.
In the past, Florida had a successful rebate program competitive with other states. The legislature in the last few years has opted against funding, citing varying studies concerning return on investment.
Backed by major business leaders, this bill would offer film, TV and digital media productions a rebate for the lesser of 20 percent, or $2 million of production costs and could provide thousands of good Florida jobs.
