This Saturday at 3:30PM (CBS) the Florida-Georgia Game, formerly known (okay, really it still is … ) as the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” has the usual SEC East ramifications and potential BCS playoff impact as well.

The game was first played in Jacksonville in 1933 and has been staged at the various iterations of the old Gator Bowl for all but 1994 and 1995, when renovations forced the game to be played in Gainesville and Athens.

After politically correct forces officially dropped the “WLOCP” mantle, the Okefenokee Oar was born, carved from a 1,000-year old cypress from the Okefenokee Swamp.
