Jumbo Shrimp season start delayed

The move from Double-A ball will have to wait another month.

MiLB (the acronym for Minor League Baseball) decided to give another month for preparations to start the baseball season, so the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp return to AAA baseball will now be May 4th at 121 Financial Ballpark.

The pandemic canceled the 2020 minor leagues and gave the powers that be the opportunity for a complete takeover of the system. The biggest winner was Jacksonville, making the leap from the now-defunct Southern League to the new Triple A East, Southeast Division. The Jumbo Shrimp will face Norfolk in the opener.
