Recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”

After the last two years, Martin Luther King Jr.’s words seem to resonate now more than ever before. That’s why, on Monday, Jan. 17, we should take the time to recognize this extraordinary man and consider how we might bring light to our communities.

There will be events in Tallahassee from 8AM to 6PM, including the 22nd Annual “Day of Dialogue.” Jacksonville will celebrate with a 1.5-mile parade, complete with floats, marching bands and dance troupes. And in Orlando, there will be a prayer breakfast, beautification projects and more.
