Sales tax holidays and Freedom Week

by The 100 Companies

Florida sales tax holidays have been a part of most years since the late 1990s. By providing special time periods where sales tax is not collected on certain items, the people save money and, hopefully, sales increase.

The Florida House is offering a new sales tax holiday for consideration, called Freedom Week, which would be the week of July 1-7 this summer and join the popular “Back to School” and “Hurricane Preparedness” holidays.

Covering tickets to events, amusement parks and the items needed to enjoy and encourage outdoor activities, Freedom Week is being debated as Session will end next Friday.
