In 2017, Congress designated Oct. 28 as National First Responders Day to honor firefighters, police officers, EMTs and all those who are first to arrive on the scene. These heroic men and women choose to put the lives of others before their very own every day.
Please thank a first responder for all they do to keep our communities safe and for always running toward an emergency. Here are a couple of interesting facts:
• More than 240 million 911 calls are made in the United State every year.
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) takes care of 22 million patients a year.
