Amateur fireworks are at their highest use, and over half the injuries caused by fireworks happen around the Fourth of July.
Recent national data showed eyeballs were the most commonly injured body part for July 1-8, 2018, accounting for one-in-six fireworks-related injuries (16.6%). The face (13.7%), hands (11.8%) and fingers (11.5%) were next most-frequently hurt. Watch the children, sure, but young adult males comprise the most often injured.
