When you think of sunny Jacksonville, you probably don’t think of ice hockey. But if the Jacksonville Icemen and Community First Credit Union have anything to say about it, you will soon.
In early August, they began an $18.5 million renovation on the Jacksonville Sports and Ice Complex, with the end goal of establishing what is now cleverly known as the Community First Igloo.
Boasting a second ice rink, e-sports arena, restaurant and bar — and even a brand-new Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame — the space will undoubtedly help facilitate, “growth in youth hockey programs, adult hockey programs, and … the Icemen franchise.”
