After years of waiting, the University of Central Florida has officially been invited by the Power Five league to join the Big 12 conference alongside BYU, the University of Cincinnati and the University of Houston.
Despite the recent announcement, UCF’s transition to the Big 12 likely won’t occur until after current schedules have finished. Sports Illustrated reported that it should happen by 2024 at the latest.
This transition makes UCF the youngest college football team in the Power Five. After years of success, winning four conference championships and two bowls games since 2013, UCF Football’s future is looking even brighter.
