An esteemed former college football coach, Urban Meyer, has emerged from retirement, making the jump to the NFL as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach.
Most Floridians will remember him as the Florida Gators football coach from 2005-2010, during which time the team secured two national championships (2006 and 2008). In 2014, Meyer earned his third national title as coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, a team that he led through several victories from 2012-2018.
Meyer’s post with the Jags follows what was believed to be his retirement from coaching in 2018, for which he cited family and personal health concerns.
