This Sunday morning, Nov. 2, at 2AM, we go back to Eastern Standard Time, setting our clocks back one hour. The sun will set Sunday on our Atlantic coast at 5:36PM. Winter descends upon Florida, and it will be dark before many of us get home from work.
So, why are we not on permanent daylight saving time, the “Florida time” that the legislature and governor passed in March of 2018?
Florida has to wait for federal approval from Congress before we can change our clocks permanently to the DST standard, so at least enjoy the extra hour this weekend.
