It was expected the videoconferencing technology offered by Zoom would be increasing with our mandated work and study at home environment, but even they were surprised by the size of the jump in consumer use.
The increase was from 10 million users in December 2019 to over 200 million users as of April 1. This twenty-fold jump in users has inevitably attracted the trolls, who have been hacking into and interrupting meetings.
While Zoom has committed to a feature freeze while working through issues of security and capacity, it is important for users to follow security protocols regarding passwords and invitations.
