The story of The Nutcracker is loosely based on the E.T.A. Hoffmann fantasy story, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” Dances include the Sugar-Plum Fairy, Russian, Arabian, Chinese, Reed Pipes and the Waltz of the Flowers.
