It’s been a year since JetBlue began nonstop service to Los Angeles from Jacksonville International, and the results have been so strong the airline will increase the number of May flights.
Currently 26 flights a week make the route, and with strong demand that number will push up to 45 per week next month. Last year, the JAX-to-LAX route had 43,880 passengers with a 78.5 percent occupancy rate, including a near 92 percent rate in June.
JetBlue is also considering other Los Angeles-area airports, as well as service into San Francisco. Avoiding a connection in Atlanta makes good business.
