The first American astronauts to launch into orbit from US soil since the end of the Space Shuttle program were hailed as heroes when the SpaceX Dragon launched in May.
Their splashdown last week was moved just off Pensacola, as Tropical Storm Isaias disrupted the Atlantic recovery zones.
Unfortunately, the Coast Guard safety range was violated by pleasure boats that actually approached the splashed-down capsule. It’s incredibly dangerous for the astronauts and for the less-intelligent that send their boats right up to the capsule as it’s in the water. Please float away from the capsule. Next launch is in September.
